Expansion will strengthen the local supply chain and increase speed, capacity and efficiency for area producers.

CHS Inc., the nation’s leading farmer-owned cooperative, is investing in its Strasburg, N.D., grain facility to strengthen the local supply chain and increase speed, capacity and efficiency for area producers. The expansion will double the site’s receiving capacity and significantly increase storage to better serve farmers during peak harvest.
The expansion includes a new 20,000 bushel-per-hour receiving pit, a 1.5 million bushel covered ground pile, and a 10,000 bushel-per-hour reclaim system. These upgrades should reduce wait times at the facility, capture surplus bushels in the region and lower handling and freight costs.
“With this investment, CHS is creating a more efficient experience for our farmer-owners,” said Kent Mulder, vice president of operations. “The Strasburg facility is positioned near three CHS shuttle loaders, so these enhancements will allow us to optimize market access and strengthen our grain supply chain.”
The Strasburg site also connects CHS River Plains with CHS South Central and other ag retail business units. This expansion will further enhance market access through rail and drive long-term value for farmer-owners.
